The Importance of Being a Stand-Up Comic

I have no idea how people managed to be preachers without being stand-up comics first. That's the path I took and I just don't... It worked for me because actually comics see the reality from the underside, right? Like Dickinson, you know, tell the truth but tell it slant. And so I think that comics do that. They come to the truth from a different angle than most people, but people can still recognize it as the truth. A good preacher does the same thing.
