The Left and the Right

I'm happy to do a big tent with people who are less far to the left. I was raised in Georgia during the civil rights movement and turned left from there. To be on the left, you need to add a commitment to the idea of social rights. So that's the left. What about the word woke? It's been a contested term, it's been valorized, demonized, every otherized. And while some activists work towards progress, they hold beliefs that actually undermine the possibility of progress.
