At its height, there were 80 lesbians living in that area. The fact that so many of these women just heard about it, came and visited one time and bought a house had to have been pretty impressive. I'm wondering how much of the creation of womantown was a call out to address systems of patriarchy from the getco. Was it more just, we were lesbians, and we want a place where we can feel comfortable?
