The Importance of Culture in the Future
The author is trying to re-embed the so-called formal economy that standard economics sketches out and give it a social life again in the informal world. It's just that we have such a mandarin analysis of standard economics that these informal factors are written off as not meaningful, not consequential, not important. And he makes a pretty good case as to why it never could work. I mean, one person described the book as reading as though the author is winking at you the whole way through with the books spattered with poetry and with art.
