The Politics of Parental Rights

A ton of bills have been introduced by Republican legislature is advocating for parents rights. A bill in Oklahoma that was introduced that would allow parents to force public school libraries to pull books they object to or face a ten thousand dollar per day fine. There's an Indiana bill that would ban the teaching of quote divisive concepts which would give parents more say over the curriculum than educators. It's just bringing up so many philosophical ideas for me about like I mean obviously individualism like you know all of that but also this idea of like does a parent have authority just by nature of having had a child?
