Population Growth in China's Yellow River Basin
The changdo plain in western china's sishwan basin shows very little occupation during the early neolithic. During the late neolithic it had a large number of sites, some of them with walls and large numbers of people. It sits at the heart of all these trals, the middle yellow river, where historian said that china's first states emerged right around this time. We can see this happening all over the yellow and yangsee river basins to a greater or lesser extent.
