The Quest for Curiosities

Sultan sent three young men on a quest to get the hand of Princess Nurenhar. The boys had started this meeting with the creeping dread that they wouldn't be allowed to marry their cousin. Hussein went to the Vijayanagara Empire in South India, where he found the greatest curiosity in the Empire. There is a lot more here that I'll link to in the show notes. But having been written by a 19th century British guy, translating a 17th century man, describing a culture a few hundred years earlier in India, it feels like a game of anthropology telephone than anything actually worthy of study.
