What Is Salvation, Military Victory, Liberation?
If you look at all of the different places where the Messiah, the anointed one, appears in the Book of Psalms, what you have is a fairly clear picture. The word salvation is not life after death. It's talking about military victory. And so I think the rest of the Gospels is wrestling with that question. How is it that we got such a weird looking Messiah? Like, why is our Christ the person that we see as the Son of God? Why did he suffer and die instead?
