The first rule of memory is the easiest way to remember something is to remember something easy. Most memory tricks are ways of converting something that's hard into something that we more naturally remember. If you're going to get it in there for the long term, you need some method of space repetition. The most famous is the mind palace or the memory palace if you want the fancy name.
