The Danes and the Anglo Saxons
The two siblings worked together, and they often used many of the same strategies. Their father had developed a system of fortified burrs to protect wessex from invasion by the danes. But now his son and daughter used those burs as offensive weapons. This was a new strategy, and it was implemented by both edward and athelflat. The two ings were also aided by the inability of the danes to organize an effective resistance.
