Hooker Chemical, Xavier Academy, 99th Street Elementary School

Hooker Chemical installed an impermeable clay surface, a pile of drums, on the site. Workers who were installing sewers and new streets, they noticed foul odors that seared their throat. The developers were under no obligation to inform the new owners that there was a giant chemical waste dump in their backyard. No houses were built directly on top of the site. They were built immediately adjacent to it.
