What Happened to the North Pacific?

Craig Childs: Why did it take us so long to arrive in North America? He says there was an ice age at the time. As water went down land that had been near the surface dried and quickly became a rather large subcontinent. The people stayed on this place because when you were trying to get further east, North America was still frozen and getting colder all the time.
