The Father's and Sons Cycles

In monogamously societies, the disintegrative phase comes in a series of sort of choppy 40 or 50 year cycles. Why is that? That's a very good question and we're still working out answers for it. But my idea is that it's essentially a father's and sons cycles. Because once a society gets into this breakdown mode, right, we have a serious violence.
