The History of Philadelphia's Quarantine Station

Philadelphia established a quarantine station in the 1740s. It was usually referred to as the Marine Hospital, but sometimes called Lazaretto. In 1793, yellow fever struck Philadelphia with a vengeance. About 5,000 were killed in a space of just over two months.
