How I Navigated the Expectation of My Parents

When i was a kid, my dad didn't want me to study film making. He had a very old school mentality that you had to become a lawyer or a doctor in order to be able to provide for yourself. For the greeks, it's like keeping up with the jones and opolises. That was how my family was. So if i wasn't doing anything that was quite prestigeous, like math or science, or anything like that, it wasn't greeted with open arms. I wanted to make movies. But the pressure of having to do something that was perceived, perceived as being the right thing is too much.
