The Rise and Fall of Hassan and Jean
Hassan led squadrons of galleys to steal captives from the shores of Italy, Sicily, and Spain. Jean specialized in preying on the rich Muslim shipping of the Eastern Mediterranean. The climax finally arrived at Jean's adopted home of Malta in 1565 when an enormous Ottoman force came to finish off the hospitalers once and for all.
