Theological Reasons to Be Proud of Humanity in Creation

There are several clear theological reasons we ought to have a kind of pride in our distinctive human status in creation. The eternal son of the father did not become a species of angel, but he became man. Christ has ascended into heaven and firmly planted the flag of our humanity in eternity. And so we know there are at least two humans who hold a higher place in heaven than even the seraphim. Our composition of body and soul present many challenges i have mentioned, such as the fact that our thinking is always dependent on the body. But in another way this can be seen as an advantage, or an immense dignity, because we sort of summarize creation within ourselves.
