Is Open Source a Team Sport?
At Block, I created an open source apprenticeship with folks who would graduate the program and we'd contribute to open source. At Netlify, it was the same thing. I was the only person shipping front-end code, but I had the ship stuff to production. If I got blocked, I'd go get free mentorship from another open source maintainer. We end up striping up a conversation and I'd ship their entire documentation to Netlify. The experience started to be even sooner. Probably a year after my first job, I had an opportunity to actually do the code newbie community on Slack.
