The Crown and the Royal Family
After 70 years, there is still a global fascination with the royal family and its matriarch. Many commentators say that the days following Diana's death make up the worst week in the long reign of Elizabeth II. There is also anger directed at the media, as it becomes apparent that the aggressive methods of the paparazzi played a key role in the accident that killed her. Her death prompts the crown to establish new grounds for a symbiotic relationship between palace and press.
