How Often Should a Therapist Check in on Progress?

Therapist and client should check in on progress at least every six months. If a therapist feels unmotivated or they're trying to figure out what their next move is, that's a good time to check back in. A better response would be for your therapist to say something like, you know, it's been really hard. And if you hear a ding dong, it's because Roxy's hitting her dog doorbell.
