I think you can really tell that they were just going for the alien look. They wanted the industrial like hardcore mining looking ship. It is a little bit confusing in terms of like what do they have, but that stuff doesn't bother me at all. You know what bothers me when they first see the event horizon and it just has giant like billboard letters on it that say event horizon. That's a trope in sci-fi to have the name of the ship on the ship. Wasn't it on the front too? Like why would it be on the front?
