I really wish I wasn't so emotional in history on a kin. It's quite a teenagery of me. I think also there's something about a refusal of history that people weren't operating in the world that we're operating in now. Many of them have done quite hateful things but have also made work that is full of liberatory possibilities, full of excitement and full of useful information for any of us. You've got to allow people to be both. People emerge out of circumstance and circumstance changes in different kinds of people imagine. They're endless need to sort of find perfect people"
