Are Anarchists Always Revolutionaries?
The idea of mutual aid is about people creating those mechanisms within and between each other. Many modern intentional communities are trying things like to be independent in terms of their energy use. They're quite often they will instigate new ideas like solar and PV, and some of them are actually off-grid entirely. But what happens is that the regulation, which is created through state mechanisms, then impedes their ability to be able to separate completely. The idea of revolution as this kind of violent, enormous overturning of the social order is a very limiting way to think about social change.
