The Complex Integration of AI in Society

With Big Tech increasingly abusing its own power, who can we trust with artificial intelligence? Dan Hendrycks, executive director at the Center for AI Safety and adviser for Elon’s Musk’s xAI, warns that “by some definitions,” we already have artificial general intelligence at work today and that super intelligence will be here within the decade. So just how far away are we from an “unshakable totalitarian regime enabled by AI”? How can we prevent “unspeakable acts of terror,” bioweapon attacks, and the “handoff” of societal control from humans to machines? Dan Hendrycks wishes “we had more time” to develop the correct solution.
