The Evolution of Human Beings

Darwin became increasingly skeptical of whether natural selection was sufficient to account for evolution. By the end of his life, he was quite sure it wasn't. And I suspect that he may actually be right, that there's much more to evolution than the trajectory that has led us to see everything in terms of natural selection. We're social animals, not in just the way the insects are, but we're just as social as they are in a different way.
