In Leibernovis, a self-experiment that Jung undertook beginning in 1913, he started feeling this tremendous pressure coming from the unconscious. One day was completely overtaken by a vision of a flood covering all of Europe. He thought maybe some latent psychosis had been unleashed. That inspired him to write them down in a beautiful red leather bound book. And it was out of trying to make sense of that experience paired with his work and patients that many of the core concepts of Jungian psychology were developed.
