Psychopaths are generally less intelligent than others, particularly so when it comes to capabilities like recognizing emotions. narcissists find that the belief in their intellectual superiority is often crucial to their identity because they're the most insecure people out there. The vulnerable narcissists aren't as likely to believe that they're smarter than others but do find taking intelligence tests really stressful.
