#146 Dr Andy P Hill - Perfectionism in Sport

The Sport Psych Show

CHAPTER

Is Perfectionism Good for You?

The more perfectionistic a person is, the more vulnerable they are to potential outcomes of perfectionism. The idea that there are functional or adaptive or healthy forms of perfectionism is highly problematic in my opinion. And i think we're only just beginning to get to grips with that in sport. It'si the most worrying myth, that somehow you can be perfectionistic in it, it won't come at any cost at all. There is nothing unique or special about sport from a perfectionistic perspective. If you are perfectionistic, r you are vulnerable to the same issues.
