Dynamic Systems Theory and Its Application to the Brain

Theory of non-linear systems is a tool for looking at processes that are intrinsically temporal. It can be used to get a handle on autonomy, which traditional computational tools such as the computer model of the mind aren't so helpful for. A number of theorists have pointed to this as a potential source of adaptivity and also resilience in the face of a constantly changing, dynamic environment.
