The High Court's Decision on Causation
The High Court found that the police had a duty to warn in their circumstance. On causation, it decided that the trial judge's decision on causation couldn't be described as well. The case should be remitted back to the trial court or the County Court rather for consideration of that issue. It might be possible that an erasure and an agreement could be reached with the claimant about that. I think it's quite likely that the decision will have to be appealed.
