Sally Kohn: I think this goes back to what we were saying last segment though too about our inability to handle distress or just suffering generally is that that has bled into the way we look at relationships too. To me, how we handle that kind of fight or flight instinct, what we do with that when it comes to conflict, that's shaped by the family. You learn trust right off the bat from whether your mom and dad keep their word to you. The less trustworthy you are as a culture, the more laws you have, the more law enforcement you have. It's not magic, it's math. It's just the way this happens.
