Thomas is famous for his acutely lyrical and emotional poetry. He was the son of florence hannah, a seamstress, and david john thomas, an english professor who would often recite shakespeare. The originality of his work makes sation difficult to define - it's that good. Sam will read out three different poems from different periods.
