A cult is like a re framing of your life, which is why you need to be cut off. You can't really reframe people's reality if they're constantly in contact with people who are not in this weird frame. Part of the ther there's an indoctrination procedure, and a lot of that indoctrination is the reframing of things they do. And at any point, if you have regular contact with someone who's not in that frame, they would say, wait, what? What have you been doing?
