All of those applications that are doing any sort of collaborative real-time stuff, they're already using CRDTs. And instead of running one CRDT on your set of cloud servers, you can simply distribute that CRDT logic to each app. So each app is running a CRDT logic that merges in with its global, with its current local state and it discards or ignores any information that it doesn't need to service that user's particular interaction at that time.
