Donald J. Trump's Co-Conspirators

The purpose of the conspiracy was to overturn the legitimate results of the 2020 presidential election by using knowingly false claims of election fraud. To impair, obstruct, and defeat the lawful federal government function by which the results of the presidential election are collected, counted, and certified is a criminal offense. The Constitution provided that individuals called electors select the president; each state determined for itself how to appoint the electors apportion to it. Trump's co-conspirators included an attorney willing to spread knowingly false claims and pursue strategies that his re-election campaign attorneys would not.
