ontology is one of those terms that I find when I use it with folks, I often have to explain it. It's really the study of things and how they relate to other things. And now we have implied Ontology where it's not just a philosophy, but actually a scientific pursuit. Information scientists can use these philosophical thoughts to help organize information, understand information and explain information.
My guest today is Ren Pope. Ren is a Principal at Info-Do, which offers data, information, and knowledge architecture consulting. He’s worked in these domains for the last 25 years or so, and has also taught colleagues how to do these things through workshops and presentations. In this episode, we focus on why organizations need to know about and develop ontologies.
