The best data on homicide that people like me watch are produced by a guy named Jeff Asher, who runs a consulting firm called AH Data Lidix. More black people getting killed than everyone else combined and more African Americans doing the killing than all of us combined. That to me is the real story and real crisis in the country. But then over here are the murders we care about, which are, of course, our hearts go out for the mass shootings.
