Iron Filing Drawings
Faraday used waxed paper and scattered iron filings on the page. He wanted to show that there is such a thing of a line of force around a magnet. You can feel them although they're very fine but they're rusting the page's opposite. They look a bit like meteorological drawings of where a storm is going.
