What Happened to the Kondest Manifesto?
The manifesto was published in 18 forty eight. It sold about a thousand copies when it came out, and then disappeared. But like a lot of mark's work that became very important in the twentieth century, it didn't have a big impact in the nineteenth century. I really wasn't until after mark's death, he died in 18 83, that that mark's thought kind of began to circulate in ways that were meaningful. This material was important too that it has taken up in germany and it has take up in russia. And that, if course, becomes the ideology of bolshevism.
