Server: A Test Bed for Rust
server was kind of like the, we call that the test. It really started as both a demonstration that Rust was going to be able to achieve its goals. We were looking for opportunities to make servo embeddable in environments where you didn't necessarily need to render the entire web. And so as of around like 2018, I think it was, we sort of pivoted away from focusing on main desktop web and instead focused on virtual reality and augmented reality devices.
