The Relationship Between Ugly Dolls and Murakami
When people feel like they're discovering something and they fall in love with it, I think that they're far more likely to go and tell absolutely everybody. When we first were found at Giant Robot Store on South Hill, it was at a time when there was still a very deep association with the magazine. The magazine was one of the first interfaces most people had with Takashi Murakami and cause at that scale right back in like the early 2000s, late 90s. And so when you walk into this place, that's like the physical manifestation of that magazine that you've been picking up at like the Virgin Megastore in New York or wherever.
