The Asymmetrical Face of the Watch
The watch has an asymmetrical face. The time dial and the second style overlap slightly. I have a feeling that they wanted to connect hours, minutes, and seconds. It's one of those details where you look at that and you go that they kind of like botched that or something but they didn't.
