What Are the Differences Between Midwives and the Government?
Most qualified midwives chose to settle a private practice because the government service at the time was not easy. They considered themselves as part of the colonial system, and they had also adopted part of the polonial worve in. So their relation to the government was very ambiguous. socio economic factors played a great role ine coices women made about where and with whom they would give birth. A alodo educated women preferred either going to hospital or going to a private penic whereas a lot of illiterate women preferred giving birth at home.
