Getting Into Ketosis Is a Great Way to Get Out of Stress
Getting fat adapted is probably more of a priority for people before they start doing longer fasts than fasting itself. The Lumen device teaches people how to become metabolically flexible by changing their macronutrients and by dropping into ketosis here and there. When I was at my highest stress last year, and I was in high cortisol state, I couldn't actually get this thing to get into fat metabolism. It can make you insulin resistant no matter what you're eating. So your respiratory quotient changes depending on the macronutrient you're consuming primarily.
