Goya's Photographs - The Disasters of War

Juliet wilson barrel is a historian and leading authority on goyer's life and work. She was inspired by the spanish artist francisco de goya, born in saragoza in 17 forty six. He set out to make a series of images called the disasters of war to document the napoleonic invasion of spain. We can't imagine how dreadful, how terrifying wor susan sontag wasn't convinced that the reporter or photographer's first hand account could move people back home.
