McCarthy's a Republican Speaker of the House
McCarthy has to be sensitive to that, cognizant of that. There's an element that wants to engineer another debt ceiling showdown on order to cut Medicare and Social Security. I'm sure you guys remember 11 years ago after Republicans won the House tried to do that same thing. The last two, John Boehner and Paul Ryan, they were effectively hounded out of the position by the right wing of their caucus.
