Is a Suffering God Comforting?
i find myself with competing intuitions here. There is often a presupposition that people will find a suffering god comforting. But actually, when you look at people's intuitions about this, they're very different. Some people point to passibilism instead of having a theodicy, because they fear it solves the problems without answering the question. And then on the other hand, some people say, at i can't stand the idea of a god who doesn't know what i'm going through in my life. That's gross.
