Refractory Status Epilepticus - What Are the Causes?
Refractory status epilepticus is a type of seizure disorder. 20% might be infectious, so send off all those perneoplastic auto immune panels that do really good infectious disease work up. In western canada, we only have one place to send it to, it a specific lab, and calgary. If someone first had a twitching of their hands, and then they got secondary generalization, that can imply focal nerlogic pathology. Any intoxicating agents, history of fever, headache, stuff like that can be help.
