How Did the New Yorker Influence You Growing Up?

Your parents subscribed to the new yorker magazine. When did you first start reading their issues? Oh god, i can't remember. I think that magazines were definitely a part of my life growing up. And how did they influence you? I didn't pore over them. I mean, i never really thought i was going to be a cartoonist.
