If you're trying to understand the special theory of relativity, invented by einstein, discovered by enstein, then you've gone through a similar process. The struggle that people have in appreciating what contem theory is saying about reality and the world that we live in is due in large part to consulting the original authors of contem theory - so to speak. It's not more controversial than other aspects of just quantum theory, once you try and understand it.
